About Rosebuds

I work in my home and would love to bring a “home from home” environment to the children, calm and relaxed so I can really get to know each child and interact on a 1:1 basis. The children will have use of my lounge/diner, garden and the downstairs toilet. I love being outside with children, I believe they learn best in the natural environment.

"My aim is to create a cosy homely setting, taking time to slow down and enjoy the simple things, as well as experience nature and nurture."

I take inspiration from Montessori, Hygge and Heauatic so feel free to look these up. I believe children should get the chance to explore everyday/natural items. The children will enjoy activities such as baking, painting, and messy play. As I like being outdoors the children will go on nature walks and get to go on little trips to places like the donkey sanctuary, Bicton, World of Country Life, the beach and local walks. We will also visit sensory room's for stay and play.

About Rosebuds: About Us

My Ethos

Although I adhere to the government guidance on documenting children’s learning and development, I am by no means attempting to run my setting like a school.  My belief is that childhood is a time for play based learning.  Children have years of tests and worksheets, for me early years should be a magical period where children build upon their natural curiosity.  Learning is gained through meaningful experiences and activities that stem from their interests.  I follow a child-led learning approach.  This means setting up invitations to play around children’s interests and allowing them to lead their play. All activities are designed to adequately nurture the emotional and intellectual growth of the children. Through stimulating situations and hands-on learning opportunities, young children are free to develop into their own bright young minds.
